Categorized, not databased
Organize by category without building out a Notion-style relational database just to keep notes sorted.
A personal notes app for ideas, research, and reference material, with categories and search, without the databases, permissions, and templates a team tool adds for collaboration you don't need.
Why this exists
Notion, Confluence, and most modern “workspace” tools are designed around collaboration, permissions, shared databases, comment threads, that a single person managing their own notes never touches but still has to navigate around. It's a lot of interface for the actual job of writing something down and finding it again later.
Notes keeps it to what a personal knowledge base actually needs: a title, a body, a category, and search. It sits next to Tasks, Roadmaps, and Journal in the same workspace, so a note connects to the goal or task it came from instead of living in a separate app entirely.
What you get
Organize by category without building out a Notion-style relational database just to keep notes sorted.
Find a note by what's in it, not by remembering which folder or page you filed it under.
Notes live alongside Tasks, Roadmaps, and Journal, so context from one module is a click from the others.
No shared permissions, comment threads, or collaboration tooling to configure around, just your own notes.
Questions
Notion's complexity, databases, relations, permissions, templates, exists to support teams. Using it solo means navigating that structure anyway. Notes strips it to category, search, and the note itself.
Notes, Tasks, and Roadmaps live in the same workspace, so moving between related items across modules doesn't require switching apps.
No practical limit for personal use, notes are organized by category and searchable regardless of how many you've built up.
